You can read reports the Quality Checkers Team have written by clicking on the links on the left. The 2012 reports are being updated at the moment (April 2012). Each report includes comments from the manager on the last page.
The following is the council statement about the checks.
“The Business Support and Development Manager for the Dorset County Council Learning Disability Day Services would like to thank Dorset People First for carrying out independent reviews at the day centres and some of the community groups.
The quality checkers reports are clear and informative with many photographs. We are keen to receive feedback as it is really important to us to offer a quality day service to meet the individual needs of all who attend.
Last year was particularly difficult for us because a number of staff posts were held as vacancies with some areas of the service being harder hit than others. The service users and staff at the day centres are talking about how the recommendations made by Dorset People First can be addressed so people’s lives can be improved in the future.
