Some good news about DLA

The government had said that they were going to cut the mobility part of Disability Living Allowance for people in residential homes.

We went on a protest in London to tell the government that our members were not happy about this.

They have decided not to cut the benefit.

Your Care, Your Rights, Their Cuts

We are starting to hear some worrying stories about charges being made for some services. People are worried that they will not be able to afford to go to their Day Services. Please let us know if you are concerned. Your stories will help our Forum with their campaigns. We can also support you to complain about changes to your services.

Our AGM and Open Day.

Our AGM and Open Day was on the 5th September at our offices just outside Dorchester. People dropped by throughout the day to say hello, have lunch, and vote for our trustees. Vic and Clare will be posting some photos of the day here soon!

Kerry voted in as South West rep!

At the last South West Forum meeting, our staff member Kerry was elected to be on the National Forum. She will represent the South West region.

It will be her job to take the things that are important to people with learning difficulties in the South West to the National Forum meetings.

The National Forum reports to the Government.
